The track "Killing Me Softly" was originally composed by songwriter Charles Fox and Norman Gimbel in the early 70s. It became a popular song thanks to the emotional lyrics and melodic arrangement.


At first, the song was performed by Roberta Flack, and her rendition received massive popularity. A lot of listeners were drawn to the smooth rhythm and heartfelt delivery which showcased.

In years later, the song was revived by Fugees, adding an updated spin. Their contemporary version retained the emotional essence of the original, but also adding a distinctive style to it. As before, "Killing Me Softly" topped the charts, turning into a global phenomenon.
